Privacy Policy – FluentVoice

1. Overview

FluentVoice is a Chrome extension designed to help users practice language pronunciation and translation. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your information.

2. Data Collection

FluentVoice does not collect, store, or share personal data, except for the temporary IP retention described in Section 3.

Text entered by the user may be processed temporarily to:

• Generate translations via the Anthropic (Claude) API.
• Generate speech audio using your browser's built-in speech synthesis.

No text is permanently stored by FluentVoice servers.

3. Third-Party Services

FluentVoice may use:

• Your browser's built-in speech synthesis (to read text aloud) — note that some browsers (e.g. Chrome) may use network-based voices that send text to the browser vendor's servers for this purpose.
• Anthropic API – Claude (to translate the text you enter)

These services process text only to return the requested translation or audio.

Your IP address may be temporarily stored (up to 24 hours) to enforce daily usage limits and prevent abuse. It is not shared with third parties and is automatically deleted after this period.

4. Data Storage

FluentVoice does not store personal data or browsing history, except the temporary IP retention described in Section 3.

5. Security

All communications with backend services are encrypted using HTTPS.

6. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated when necessary.
